About This Piece

Passionate about travel and adventure from a young age, she decided to embark on a journey in 1924 to North Africa and then in 1925 to Asia. She stayed in India, Burma, Tibet, the Indochinese peninsula, and the Far East. Throughout these travels, she continued to paint the sights and people she encountered.

This oil painting on a wooden panel was painted during a journey to Cambodia. It depicts a young girl focused on her work. In this portrait, we can perceive a profound sense of softness and tranquility.

Dating: between 1925-1930, the period when Léa Lafugie traveled to Asia.
This oil on board comes from the renowned collection of Jean-Paul Gérard-Pau. Signed Lafugie.
