About This Piece

Stars 6 is a stunning Digital C-Type print on Fuji Maxima Matte paper, available in this size from a Limited Edition of 7 + 2 Artist Proofs.

Ellie has been working in the forests of the UK for the past seven years, producing work which explores the complex interrelationship between the landscape and the individual. In Stars, Davies takes as her starting point her desire to arrive at a balanced relationship between the wild places of her youth and an increased sense of being disconnected with the natural world.

Often when we witness the vast spaces of the natural world we might gaze through binoculars or telescopes, feeling a sense of awe and wonder. But the landscape can quickly become another object to be viewed and so this separation arises between person and nature.

Today, most of us live in urban environments and we experience the landscape from a distance; mediate by television and technology, it remains out of reach. Stars wants to address this distance by drawing the viewer directly into the heart of a rich and textured forest which offers both mystery and the potential for exploration.

In Stars, we can appreciate the fragility of our relationship with the natural world. Each image created links the forest landscape with the greatest unknown of all, the universe. Through this, Davies brings to light a profound and electrifying contrast between the luscious physicality of the forest and its inherent otherness.

Delivery Details

Delivery will be completed by a parcel service such as UPS, DHL, or FedEx.
You will receive a tracking number to monitor the status of your shipment.
Delivery will take place between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
A wooden crate may be used for intercontinental shipments for maximum protection.
Item will be left in its packaging after delivery.
A signature will be required upon delivery.
