Vintage Model 104 Lobby Chair by Ray and Charles Eames from Vitra

The American designers Ray Kaiser Eames (1912 - 1988) and Charles Eames (1907 - 1978) designed the extremely comfortable "Lobby Chair" shooting armchair for the lobby of the Rockefeller Center in New York. The armchair, especially in 1972 in Reykjavik between Bobby Fisher (USA) and Boris Spassky (USSR), gained awareness at the time of the "Kalten War". Fisher brought his own chair to the World Cup and chose the "Lobby Chair". SPASSKY felt disadvantaged and asked for the same armchair as his opponent the following day. Our armchairs were produced in 2009 by the Vitra company. Manufacturer designation on the underside. Both armchairs are in a flawless, actually new condition. No defects can be seen on the frame made of chrome -plated aluminum. Individual, minimum signs of wear on the leather can only be found if you search extensively. No smells. The mechanics work perfectly and the steering rollers for parquet floors are running well. The color is the name "68 Chocolate", a very dark brown tone that looks almost black. Photos number 2 and 3 show the color well. With the gas suspension, the seat height can be individually adjusted from 41 to 46cm.
