Fantastic, contemporary/figurative expressionist oil painting on wood from 1970's, by Béchon.
The painting features a multi-colored, urban skyline with tall buildings and two bridges/ pathways, juxtaposed against rich, warm hues of an orange and red sky in the background, and a technique that's somewhat of a hat tip to Bernard Buffet, with more of a contemporary edge. The frame is made of wood, with a brushed metal color and on the back, there is a small hook at the top, in order to mount it onto a wall.
The piece is is very good original condition, with some small, light signs and areas of age and previous usage commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time, on both the left and right sides of the painting, the frame, the back and towards the bottom left-hand corner, above the signature, "Béchon", but nothing that takes away from the cool look of this scene (see photos.) Please note: All photos were taken in natural light, so the colors may slightly differ based on the light and angle upon which the piece is viewed.
This piece will complement any given space, whether displayed on a wall or other piece of furniture in an entryway, living room, dining room, bedroom, studio, industrial loft, et al.
