About This Piece

High-quality cartographic Opera, International Atlas of the Italian Touring Club with a dedication printed in Benito Mussolini, head of the Italian government in 1927.

Opera drafted in Milan workshops G. Ricordi & C. started in 1927 and authorized to the press in 1929.
It consists of two handcrafted bound volumes, with a rigid rib and edges page in purple gold. The first volume presents the political tables, physical, road and transport, as well as details of the city. The boards, though the book is "oversized", are extremely large, and in folding format.
It consists of main tables 170 and 130 partial cards and developing (date the epoch), obviously state boundaries and the main lines were very different from today's. The second volume contains the indices of the tables and of the cartography names used in the first volume.
The second volume also contains the certificates of literary and artistic property, the registration date and year of publication. In the preface (fifth page) letter of dedication to the head of the Italian government, which had commissioned it, Benito Mussolini. From this point it is clear that the work, wanted complete and excellence, cost ben 10 years of work. (1917-1927)
The majesty of this work is completed by the series "The roads of Italy" consists of 7 files, containing 53 tables prepared in 1923, on which the entire mobility (roads network, railways, ports etc ...) has represented the kingdom of Italy of that time.
This topographical collection is complete and in excellent condition.
On the back of the boards, as well as on the binders are shown in print advertising business era ... Many of those companies that then arose as a small local craft and reality, are now multinational companies, while others have disappeared.
It's complemented by the received with thanksgiving for purchase.
The two-volume work was not for sale, but reserved solely for members of T.C.I. annuities, and members of the Government of the Kingdom of Italy.
The series "The streets of Italy", which was a collection of each set (7 files in all) in the year 1923 it cost 120 Liras in Italy (equivalent to the current 115 euros), while abroad the price doubled in Lire 240 (equivalent to the current 230 euros) caduno.
The conditions are excellent. There are no tears, scribbles or traces of mold.
