Large Blue and White Table Lamp from Delftware

Meet Athalia! Part of our exciting collaboration with the renowned 5 th generation Aronson Antiquairs of Amsterdam, Athalia is a one-of-a-kind lamp lovingly handcrafted from an authentic antique Delftware vase, circa 1705. We’ve paired it with a handmade custom contemporary lampshade made from a gorgeous Dupion silk in saffron. The vase base is marked PK in blue for Pieter Gerritsz Kam , the owner of De Drie Posteleyne Astonne (The Three Porcelain Ash- Barrels) factory from 1700 to 1705, or for his widow Maria van der Kloot-Kam from 1705 to 1716. Painted on the ovoid body are four large panels filled with landscape scenes of bamboo, rock work, flowering shrubbery, flitting insects and pseudo-Chinese characters, all between wide bands of scrolls and lotus flowers. The foot rim and shoulder have a border of leaf devices and the neck, a border of large flowerheads and scroll devices. The brass top has been custom cut to the exact shape of the vase base and the lamp is also fitted with a new matching saffron cord. E27 bulb fitting. We can adapt the plug depending on the country you will use it in.
