Beautiful rug from the brand Gabbeh made of wool and beautifully woven.

Gabbeh rugs are traditional tribal carpets, knotted by the Quashqai people of the Zagros Mountains in western Iran. The word Gabbeh comes from Farsi and can be translated as rough, uncut or unfinished, which is very appropriate as Gabbeh rugs have a rough and primitive appearance.

Midle Eastern Gabbeh rugs were mainly intended for personal use and were not influenced by commercial demand, as was the case with many other Middle Eastern carpets. As a result, the rugs are still a combination of the weaver's craftsmanship and artistic expression. Very typical are simple designs inspired by nature, with images of everyday nomad life in beautiful color combinations, as well as the plain monochrome ton sur ton rugs without figurative elements or with very small details.

Middle Eastern Gabbeh rugs are usually woven at home by nomads or semi-nomadic people using hand-spun Middle Eastern wool and natural dyes. They are characterized by their thick wool pile of up to 2.5 cm or more, which makes them very comfortable to walk on. Gabbeh rugs give your home a cozy feel and are also a great way to absorb sound in a larger room.
